Join the Team

There are 250+ long term care providers looking for people just like you to join their care teams. From Ft. Kent to York, from Eastport to Canton, towns and cities all across Maine depend on their nursing homes and assisted living facilities to care for their community’s elderly and disabled citizens. If you have the heart, time, and desire to learn, consider a career in long term care.

Careers in long term care offer competitive wages, benefits, security, flexibility and opportunities for growth. In some cases, employers will pay 100% of your training. Other employers may even pay you while you are training (“earn while you learn” programs).  A recent survey shows wages range from $8.00 to $20.00 per hour for these positions, with an established path to career advancement. For example, it is not uncommon for a Certified Nursing Assistant to go on to become a Registered Nurse. Above and beyond wages and benefits, long term care employees enjoy making a difference in someone’s life. They like being part of a team with a shared goal and being able to select work hours that provide balance between work and home. They enjoy meeting a variety of people and interacting with patients and their families.
